ARC Voyagers is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda N. Smith as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective October 9, 2026, along with two executive leadership appointments designed to strengthen organizational operations, strategy, and future growth.
Amanda Smith succeeds Anthony Hartley, who recently stepped down as Chief Executive Officer, following ten years of dedicated service to the organization. During his tenure, Anthony guided ARC Voyagers through its historic 2019 transition from the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities, led the organization through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and helped strengthen its long-term sustainability. ARC Voyagers extends its sincere appreciation to Anthony for his leadership, service, and contributions to the organization’s continued success. Anthony will continue serving in an advisory capacity through December to support a smooth leadership transition.
Building on a Strong Foundation
Amanda brings two decades of experience in human services, including extensive leadership experience in the intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) field. Having previously served as ARC Voyagers’ Executive Vice President and Chief Services Officer, she has played an instrumental role in shaping organizational strategy, advancing service transformation, strengthening operational performance, and cultivating community partnerships.
As Interim CEO, Amanda will focus on building upon ARC Voyagers’ strong foundation while advancing organizational priorities centered on service excellence, workforce development, operational effectiveness, financial sustainability, and strategic partnerships.
“ARC Voyagers has a remarkable legacy, an extraordinary team, and an enduring mission. I’m honored to lead our organization during this important time and excited about the opportunities ahead. My commitment is to honor the work that has brought us here, invest in our people and partnerships, and thoughtfully position ARC Voyagers to meet the evolving needs of the individuals and communities we serve. Together, we will strengthen our foundation and build what’s next.”
— Amanda N. Smith, Interim Chief Executive Officer
Strengthening Executive Leadership
To further support organizational priorities and the next chapter of ARC Voyagers’ work, the organization is also pleased to announce two new executive leadership appointments.
Dr. Beth West has been appointed Interim Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, Dr. West will provide executive leadership and oversight of organizational operations, working collaboratively with the Interim CEO and executive leadership team to strengthen service delivery, operational effectiveness, and organizational performance.
Kate Becker has been promoted to Chief Impact and Strategy Officer (CISO). In this role, Kate will help advance organizational strategy, innovation, community engagement, and opportunities for strategic partnerships and diversified revenue that strengthen ARC Voyagers’ mission and long-term impact.
Prior to working at Voyagers, Dr. West spent 15 years in the integrated community healthcare setting. During her time as the Chief Operations Officer at Health Partners of Western Ohio she led ten fully integrated primary health centers in seven communities, overseeing medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and OB/Gyn care to over 50,000 patients. Kate joined Voyagers in January of 2026, after spending nearly 15 years in progressive leadership roles at Ronald McDonald House where she spent more than four years as the Chief Program Officer. Kate brings expertise in organizational growth, fundraising/philanthropy, program innovation, marketing, and strategic partnerships to this role.
Our Commitment to Individuals, Families, and Community Partners
Throughout this leadership transition, ARC Voyagers remains firmly committed to the individuals, families, employees, and community partners who depend on and contribute to its mission. ARC Voyagers looks forward to building upon its legacy of service, strengthening its partnerships, and creating new opportunities for the individuals and communities it serves. Programs and services will continue without interruption, existing points of contact will remain in place, and established community partnerships will continue.
Our mission remains unchanged: To be a trusted guide, helping the individuals we serve discover opportunities, realize possibilities, and create their best lives.
Individuals and families with questions are encouraged to continue communicating with their existing ARC Voyagers contacts. Community partners and stakeholders may contact Amanda Smith directly at asmith@arcvoyagers.com or 614-479-2513.
